Travel Teams

Travel ball opportunities are available for both boys and girls participating in the following divisions:

Girl's: 8&Under, 10&Under, 12&Under and 14/16&Under

Boy's: 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 15U and 18U

Tryouts for teams are being held soon. The Glory and Patriot teams start practicing around January. Each team decides its own practice schedule, sets its own tournament schedule and is free to play year a round or can form fall-ball teams.

GIRLS	BOYS

CAL RIPKEN/BABE RUTH TOURNAMENTS

One considerable advantage of being a member of a Glory or Patriot team is that the teams are eligible to participate in tournaments offered by the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League. Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth tournaments are both exciting and challenging and are certainly not the normal, run-of-the-mill weekend tournaments.

• In the Cal Ripken divisions (ages 7-12), state tournaments are offered for ages 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Winners advance to a regional tournament and the 10-year old and 12-year old winners advance to a World Series. The 12-year old World Series is held at the Ironbird Stadium in Aberdeen, Maryland owned by Cal and Billy Ripken. Cal and Billy are present throughout the entire World Series and mingle regularly with the participants.

• Babe Ruth (13-15 year olds) and Sr. Babe Ruth (16-18) Divisions hold district, state and World Series tournaments for ages 13, 14, 13-15 and 16-18.
• Girls Softball holds state and regionals tournaments for the 12&Under and 16&Under age brackets with winners advancing to a World Series.
• Girls Softball also hosts 10&Under and 14&Under National Invitational Tournaments.

These tournaments are very exciting and very challenging. Babe Ruth flies winning teams to the World Series sites and with the exception of the 10-year old teams, offers host-family housing for team members. Participating in a World Series is a very memorable experience where life-long friendships can be established, visits to local attractions are possible and a lot of exciting baseball.

The Concord Patriots is an elite travel baseball program based in Concord.

We are the travel program of the Concord Junior Optimist Baseball League- JOBL, affiliated with the Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball. JOBL uses regulation competitive baseball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. In all aspects, JOBL is committed to providing the very best in educational, sports experience possible. It is JOBL's fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.

One of our most exciting features is that while JOBL has had traveling teams for many years, the past few years has seen JOBL convert its traveling programs for the boys divisions to year-around play: the Concord Patriots. After the regular-season play, Concord Patriot teams travel to various sites for USSSA, ASA, USTBA, NSA, NCTB and various tournament play, as well as to the district, state, regional and world series play offered by Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth.

Our goal is to enrich the players’ appreciation of the game while learning the life lessons associated with baseball. We stress a core set of values- hard work, discipline, sacrifice, loyalty, teamwork and accountability. The values are more important than championships. We will provide young baseball players the best competition, the most fun the game of baseball has to offer, the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to achieve success of playing youth, high school, college or professional baseball.

Through the Concord Patriots, each motivated athlete will be put in a position to better themselves through tested and proven training programs, which have been implemented throughout professional levels of coaching.

The Concord Patriots practices, instruction and lessons, will give each player the opportunity to excel at every aspect of the game. Players will receive personalized and professional instruction that focuses on the development of their skills. These skills will be enhanced through repetitive practice of the proper fundamentals. The Concord Patriots provide cutting-edge personalized and professional instruction to a wide array of talented young athletes. We instruct: pitching, hitting, catching, infield and outfield play, developing arm and bat speed, base running, sliding, and strength training. The Concord Patriots offer Private Lessons, Group Clinics, Team Practices and Player Camps to our players.
